Undergraduate
Bachelor of Laws
(LLB)
Financial
assistance is sometimes available through various scholarships or grant
schemes. Candidates must however contact, research and apply directly
to the Scholarship authorities.
The
University of London is not able to influence any of the scholarship
awarding authorities and is not responsible for processing or forwarding
applications to them for funding.
As there are usually only a small number of scholarships available, competition is generally very high. You are therefore encouraged to investigate funding possibilities as early as possible and it is recommended that you submit your application to join the course as early as possible as in some instances a firm offer of a place from the University can be advantageous when asking an organisation for assistance with funding.
Information on scholarships can be found on each of the following links.
(Each link will open a new window.)
If
you are outside the United Kingdom and there is a British Council office
near to you, it might also be worthwhile checking if they know of any
local funding or sponsorships which are available.
This
page will be updated from time to time with any additional information
about scholarships and other funding that may become known.
Malaysian
LLB Scholarship
King’s
College London
The campus of King’s College is in the centre of London, very
close to the Inns of Court and the Royal Courts of Justice. Law has
been taught at King’s College since 1831 and the College has taken
Malaysian students into its undergraduate and postgraduate law degree
courses for many years now. Staff from King’s College have always
had a close connection with the External Programme and participate fully
in the intensive weekend courses held for External students.
Who
can apply?
The Scholarship is open to students who are sitting the Intermediate
examination under Scheme A. Applicants must be Malaysian citizens and
should have undertaken their secondary education in Malaysia.
The
University will offer the Scholarship to the applicant who achieves
the highest marks in the Intermediate examination provided that he or
she is taking the examination for the first time and that his or her
application is otherwise satisfactory.
Making
an application
Details of how to apply are given in the Resouce guide sent to all registered
students.
What
is the Scholarship worth?
The successful student benefits from a scholarship of £14,000
each year. Further details are given with the application form.
Note:
King’s College has asked the University to point out that the
award of a scholarship place is exceptional and that they cannot normally
consider other applications from External students wishing to transfer
into the King’s LLB in their second year of study. Students are
asked not to contact King’s College directly in this respect or
in connection with the Scholarship, which will be administered by the
External Programme Examinations Office.
