Diploma in the Common Law
Academic leadership
The Diploma in the Common Law has been developed by a consortium of
University of London Colleges known as the Laws Consortium* of the University of
London. This Consortium also offers the University of London LLB by External
study and is renowned internationally for its gold standard law programmes
delivered by External study.
*Birkbeck; King's College London; The London School of Economics and
Political Science; Queen Mary, School of Oriental and African Studies; and UCL
(University College London).

Jenny Hamilton
Director, External Undergraduate Laws Programme
Professor Jenny Hamilton joined the University
of London International Programmes as the new Director of the External
Undergraduate Laws programme in January 2010.
As Director, Jenny is primarily responsible for
driving forward strategic planning and key initiatives and one of her most
important responsibilities is to review and develop the quality of the student
learning experience.
Jenny lectured at the University of Strathclyde
Law School, Glasgow, Scotland from 1996 to 2009. She graduated LLB at the
University of Adelaide, South Australia, then obtained her LLM from the
University of Aberdeen, Scotland. Previously, she was a qualified barrister and
solicitor (Australia) and also a teacher. Her current research interests are in
commercial law and financial services regulation. Her main teaching areas
included Commercial Law; International Economic Law and Financial Services
Regulation.
